Graton Gallery – California Fine Art & Artisan Crafts
“A friendly, ever-changing destination for great art!”
Graton Gallery recently celebrated its 6th year in the tiny town of
Graton, five miles west of Sebastopol. The Gallery has a well
established reputation for showcasing an ever changing variety of
original art, and is a favorite of those who find it. Behind its
narrow store-front, the long, high-ceiling show space and adjacent
sculpture garden holds one of the largest overall selection of local
fine art and artisan crafts in Sonoma County. Rotating shows debut
every 6 weeks featuring resident and guest artists. Opening
receptions for each new show offers the public an opportunity to
meet the artists and engage in lively conversation.
The Gallery is owned and operated by a partnership of 7 local
artists; Susan Ball, Rik Olson, Soo Noga, Pam Lewis, Linda Ratzlaff,
Janet Moore and Sally Baker. Partners share a common interest in
actively supporting the arts as Board Members, Volunteers and
Directors of local arts organizations including; Arts Council of
Sonoma County, Sonoma County Gallery Group, and Sebastopol Center
for the Arts/Art at the Source. The Gallery also hosts the ARTrails
Preview Show in October in tandem with the Arts Council of Sonoma
County, sponsors community events and emerging local artists. Many
nationally and internationally famous artists got their start at
Graton Gallery…, many savvy collectors know this.
As an “artist's gallery” Graton Gallery has a unique relationship
with a vast pool of professional artists and is able to draw new
guest artists for each show. The Invitational Exhibition each winter
brings together over 25 top Northern California painters,
printmakers and sculptors into one show.
