Jill Keller-Peters

Jill Keller-Peters is a contemporary impressionist landscape and still life artist. Her distinctive paintings center around nature, and how light and atmosphere effect her carefully chosen subjects. Working with pure color out of the tube, Jill mixes layers of color on panels, deftly maneuvering the paint with a painting knife, using her knowledge of light and color to create luminous paintings.

Photography taught her to “read” light and to seek out situations that optimize its glowing qualities. It taught her to patiently work out the technical aspects of a lighting challenge and to think analytically.

Jill was raised in Visalia, California, the gateway to the Sequoias. She currently lives in the northern California wine country with her husband, Josef Keller, a chef and restaurateur.
